Born in 1963 in Duisburg, Germany, Michael W. Driesch has spent his life moving between art, science and entrepreneurship.
He studied economics (Dipl.-Kfm.) at the University of Duisburg and later earned a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at Witten/Herdecke with a dissertation on Art and Economic Theory. He has been making photographs since 1977 and films — as writer, actor, director and producer — since 1979.
As an entrepreneur he has founded and led companies in publishing, direct marketing and film, including the Mallorca Film Academy (2003–2007) and, for two decades, his holding company based in Llucmajor, Spain. As an author he writes across fiction, essay and theory; his current English-language book is The Book of Being Human.
Today he lives and works between Düsseldorf and Llucmajor (Mallorca). His main project, alongside his writing, is BOA.ART.
